Cape Town Deserted

Cape Town Becoming a Ghost Town

Incredible drone footage captures the empty and silent streets of Cape Town during the coronavirus lockdown in South Africa. Authorities imposed a 21-day national lockdown on 26 March, going as far as to ban outdoor physical activity, pet walking and going to the beach. Restrictions also include putting a stop to public gatherings of more than 50 people and a ban on the sale of alcohol and cigarettes.

South Africa has the largest number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Africa, with more than 1,700 infections. The effects of the pandemic on tourism, finance and manufacturing in the African country have been devastating. #Coronavirus #Lockdown #CapeTown #StayAtHome
